Food in Pulau Langkawi is a culinary adventure of the senses, spanning traditional delicacies to international delights. As this is a major tourist destination, there are so many restaurants, cafes, bars and hawker stalls around the island that will cater to many different taste buds. In terms of international cuisine, you can find Western, Mediterranean, Japanese, Korean, Middle East, Turkish and other overseas fare. For local food, there is a rich variety of traditional Malay, Chinese and Indian food, utilising seafood mostly as this is a beach side destination. The best places to find food are in Kuah, Pantai Cenang, Pantai Tengah and Telaga Harbour.
Kuah
Dining in Langkawi
Kuah is the entry point for visitors and tourists coming by ferry from Kuala Kedah or Kuala Perlis. This small town is filled with numerous restaurants, which serve mostly traditional Chinese, Malay or Indian cuisine. The open-air Chinese seafood restaurants located along the main road facing the sea as well those the stretch by the river near the bridge are most popular in Kuah, with delicious dishes and reasonable prices.

Pantai Cenang is a major tourist spot in Langkawi. It boasts a wide beach with fine sand, several luxury hotels and a stretch of popular night time establishments and dining outlets. This is the place to go for international cuisine, including Mediterranean, Middle East, Japanese, Korean, Western and much more. The restaurants mostly line along the main road facing the beach on both sides. Also visit Pantai Tengah, which is just next door.

Telaga Harbour is an upmarket dining area with a world class marina that hosts mostly luxury yachts. The popular stretch of bars, pubs and international restaurants are arranged along the dock, providing al-fresco dining opportunities for the guests and patrons. At night, diners can have their meals in full view of the luxury yachts and marina with the backdrop of Langkawi's famous limestone mountains.

The first bakery opened by Malaysia's fourth prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir is located in Telaga Harbour. There are also some shop lots at the back of the marina with further restaurants to choose from. Finally, you can visit some of the hotels in the area for additional dining opportunities.
